Billerud’s paper packaging materials are fully recyclable and produced with responsibly sourced cellulose fibers. In 2023, Billerud’s European material portfolio was third-party assessed as 100% recyclable according to the Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) certification. Our 2024 target was to maintain this result as a gold standard for our packaging material.

For Billerud North America, we have set a target for 100% of North American paper packaging material to be recyclable according to PTS certification. Additionally, Billerud North America has set a goal to have 66% of our production units certified according to food safety standards by the end of 2025.
