The first sealed paper packaging

Conventional packaging for dry foods such as flour and sugar has several benefits – and several environmental drawbacks. Plastic bags are leakage proof, but leave a permanent eco-footprint. Paper packaging leaves a smaller trace*. Unfortunately, it also leaves traces of what it contains.

To challenge conventional packaging we and German technological innovators Syntegon Technology have designed a sealed paper packaging that is not only dust-proof, it also keeps the environment clean in a broader sense.

The secret is the combination of BillerudKorsnäs Axello® ZAP paper, strong and resilient enough to be used in a vertical fill form and seal (VFFS) machine, and the innovative ZAP–Module from Syntegon that allows the machine to run the paper.

The result – the world’s first sealed paper packaging for dry food. A dust-tight packaging that is perfect for pasta, muesli, sugar, flour and rice and gives brand owners a natural alternative to plastic. An alternative that is not only more sustainable, but also gives them packaging with the unique, tactile experience and printability of paper. An extra bonus is that the mono-material packaging also gives the added benefit of lower packaging waste fees.

Leakage? Belongs to the past. Now your environmental conscience can be as clean as your shelves and the supply chain.

Challenge your eco-footprint

Sadly, a good amount of the things we throw away aren’t naturally compostable, and should never be treated as such.
